Choose the right furniture
If you want to buy bedroom furniture, start with a floor plan and a dimensional drawing of the room. Furniture should match the room they inhabit. This is especially true for bedroom furniture. Do not choose a heavy, big bed and a dresser for a small bedroom. When the ceiling is high, a tall headboard helps to visibly size it up.
If your bedroom is large, choose the right furniture. Add a chair and an ottoman or place a piece of furniture at the end of the bed. Too small furniture and accessories seem lost in a large room.
Have a lot of space
Store things out of sight to increase the quiet feeling of a bedroom. The room looks quieter and more spacious.
Choose a spacious nightstand with drawers or doors behind which you can hide books, lotions, and reading glasses within easy reach, but out of sight. For more storage space, choose a table with skirt or a small dresser with drawers.
Use a trunk or storage bin at the foot of the bed to store extra sheets, blankets and pillows.
For easily accessible books and accessories, use a headboard with built-in shelves or sliding elements.
A tailor-made organizational system can make maximum use of the cupboard space.
Place flat boxes under the bed to hide them with a nice bed skirt.
Add a private angle
Treat yourself to a special gift with a quiet place to sit and read. Create an intimate reading or lounge area with a comfortable chair and footstool at the end of your bed or in a corner.
If you have room, build a window seat under the bedroom window. Enjoy the view and the natural light.
